Eco-trail "Sruilitsa - Kaleto - Lukata"

If waterfalls, legends for fairies and walks through small bridges over wild rivers sounds like the perfect weekend, You must visit the West Rodopi and Devin.

The eco-trail starts from the "Struilitsa" area, well known for its pools with hot mineral water, and proceeds near by the picturesque meanders of the river. On some places are built small metal bridges, which give the opportunity to walk near near by the river, toward its water springs.

The total lenght of the major part of the eco-trail is around 4 km.  A normal tourist, without additional training, can walk through it for about 2-3 hours, both ways. The Eco-trail leads to the area of "Lukata", in which had existed an old village from the Middle Ages. Nowadays the area represents a large green valley, surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks.

In about 800 m from the valley, above the slope of the mountain, can be seen the remains from the famous fortress "Kavurskoto Kale ( or just "Kaleto"). It had existed between 6 st and 12th century, when was conquered by the Turks, after a long siege. Due to lack of significant financing, the fortress have not been recovered. It was announced as a local monument of culture, together with the Middle Age village in the "Lukata" area. Both places are under protection of the "Monuments of culture and museums Low".
