The Wonder Bridges
The Wonder Bridges are a rocks phenomenon, known also with the name "The Rocks Bridges". Situated in the karst valley of the river "Erkupria" in West Rodopi Mountain, with an altitude of 1450 m, beneath the peak "Big Percenk" (2091 m). The rocks phenomenon is located in about 80 km south from Plovdiv city, 35 km north-west from Chepelare and in just 5 km north-west from "Zaburdo" village.
In the past the bridges were represented a cave, built under the destroying waters of the rivers. During the time, parts of the cave were falling down, building an incredible marble bridges. The big bridge is 15 m width and almost 100 m long. It is consisted from three arks, as the biggest one is 45 m high and 40 width. The small bridge is in about 200 m distance from the bigger one by the stream of the river, it can't be walked, it has 60 m length, 50 m high, and the ark is 30 m high. After that there is also one small third bridge, which represents a dive cave, in which the waters of "Erkupria" river disappears, in order go back on the surface after 3 km.
The two big bridges are safe and available for tourists. Trespassing is allowed above and beneath them.
